“In 2005, I developed an allergy to tomatoes. My parents had a farm that grew a lot of tomatoes. It got to be so bad that when I was around the plants I would immediately get hives and had difficulty breathing. If I ate something containing tomato I would immediately be covered in hives.

“I am so grateful that I started seeing Dr. Holyk for my health concerns. I am 59 years of age and having seen mainstream doctors for so long; with very little help had become extremely discouraging.
I first came to Dr. Holyk with extreme afternoon exhaustion even after my internist had prescribed anxiety medicine for my exhaustion and increased the dosage when it continued. Needless to say that did not make any difference. Another doctor put me on anti-depressants thinking my exhaustion could be due to depression. I never felt depressed, but I certainly was feeling frustrated!
During my first visit Dr. Holyk ordered blood work-ups, saliva testing and we had extensive discussion about how I actually felt, unlike all of the past doctors! The testing revealed low cortisol levels. This actually turned out to be the real problem causing the extreme exhaustion I had been experiencing for so long and incorrectly diagnosed. The previous doctors failed to listen or ignored what I said to them or what my body signs were indicating.
Dr. Holyk started having me take supplements to support my adrenals. When my body still was not producing enough cortisol he put me on Hydrocortisone, which replaces the cortisol that I needed. His decision to do this was a major change for me. I feel as if I got my life back. After struggling for so long it was such a relief to be able to function normally again.
I find Dr. Holyk easy to deal with and his manner is very pleasant. I am sure that I will continue to have him treat me long term. He also put me on bio-identical hormones, which has also been such a positive outcome for me. I am in Florida six months of the year and the other half I spend near Atlanta; it is comforting to know I can have phone consultations with Dr. Holyk for my needs. I have great confidence in him and I am very pleased that I made the decision to come to him.”
